Write an essay of at least 250 words in about 40 minutes that answers every part of the question with a clear position. Task 2 counts twice as much as Task 1, so give it the time: plan for five minutes, then write an introduction, two developed body paragraphs and a conclusion.

How to do it
- Identify the question type: opinion (to what extent do you agree), discuss both views, advantages and disadvantages, problem and solution, or a two-part question.

- Introduction: paraphrase the topic and state your position or what the essay will do.
- Two body paragraphs: one main idea each, explained and supported with an example.
- Conclusion: restate your position clearly. No new ideas.
Common mistakes
- Answering only part of the question, such as giving one view in a "discuss both views" essay.
