IELTS Exam Fee in Bangladesh 2026: Every Cost in Taka

Short answer: IELTS on computer costs ৳31,100 in Bangladesh, for both Academic and General Training. IELTS for UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) costs ৳34,850. The fee is the same in every city.

Academic and General Training cost the same. You pay more only if your visa needs the UKVI version (more on that below).

The first five electronic result forms to universities are free.

Cancelling and refunds

If you cancel five weeks or more before your test, you get 75% of the fee back. The other 25% is kept as an administration charge. If you cancel less than five weeks before, you get nothing back.

So if you are not sure about your date, move the test instead of cancelling it. A transfer costs ৳3,000, a cancellation costs about ৳7,775.

Do I need the UKVI version?

Only for some UK visas. If you are going to a UK university at degree level, the university decides which test it accepts, and most accept the normal IELTS Academic. Courses below degree level and most UK work and family visas need a "Secure English Language Test", which for IELTS means IELTS for UKVI.

For Canada, Australia, the USA and anywhere else, take the normal test. Paying ৳3,750 extra for UKVI when you don't need it is a common mistake.

What is One Skill Retake?

If you take IELTS on computer and miss your target in one module, you can retake just that module (Listening, Reading, Writing or Speaking) for ৳18,600 instead of the full test. It has to be booked within 60 days of the original test, and not every organisation accepts it, so check with your university or visa office first.

If you missed your target by half a band in Writing or Speaking, One Skill Retake is usually cheaper than a full retest. It is also cheaper than a recheck, which costs ৳10,500 and rarely moves a score by more than half a band.

How to pay

IDP accepts a credit or debit card online, bKash or Nagad, or cash at an IDP office. Mobile banking may add a small convenience fee.

How to avoid paying twice

At ৳31,100, a retake is expensive. Before you book:
